Did You Know Ibuprofen Kills Thousands / Year? Here’s The Alternative

Legal "drugs" that make today, both over the counter and prescription drugs, are responsible for at least 100,000 deaths per year in the United States alone.

by Arjun Walia

As many reports have indicated, most published research supporters these drugs is completely false; The results are manipulated in order to get products to market as quickly as possible, rather than to ensure their safety.

This type of corruption rampant in the industry and represents a significant risk to public health and safety.

A recent study published last week in The British Medical Journal by researchers at the Nordic Cochrane Centre in Copenhagen, for example, found that pharmaceutical companies were not disclosing any information about the results of their drug tests.

You can read more about this here .

We are now over a past decade, when most Article heavily visited in the history of the Public Library of Science (PLoS) was published - a scathing review of medical fraud - and the problem has only gotten worse. Medical professionals still risk their jobs and reputation to get the message out there and educate the public.

Dr. Richard Horton, the current editor in chief of The Lancet, is just one prominent example:
"The case against science is simple: much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, it can be simply untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, small effects, invalid exploratory analyzes, and blatant conflicts of interest, along with an obsession with the pursuit of fashion trends of dubious importance , science has turned into the darkness. "( source )
This is very worrying, especially considering the fact that most graduates coming out of medical school today are educated heavily on prescription drugs.

That education, however, is based on flawed and biased research, and / or flat counterfeited. They are being prepared for the medical establishment for those who can benefit the most, and not consumers.

Unfortunately, many doctors remain fully aware of the deep systemic problems plaguing their profession.

Dr. Peter Gotzche, co-founder of the Cochrane Collaboration (most important organ in the world in the assessment of medical evidence), published an article last year in The Lancet arguing against the use of antidepressants and explain their dangers.
"It is remarkable that no one raises an eyebrow when we kill so many of our own citizens with drugs." ( source )
These deaths can be difficult to measure and report on, however, because it does not occur instantaneously; which they are the result of prolonged use over an extended period.

Gotzche two main areas of attention are antidepressants and "non-steroidal anti-inflammatory" painkillers, such as ibuprofen, Tylenol, celecoxib, and diclofenac.

There is another Vioxx, which actually was withdrawn after it was discovered that had caused more than 100,000 cases of severe heart disease in the United States during the five years he was in the market.

according to Gotzche, these deaths are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the failure of the process of drug regulation to protect patients

problem ibuprofen and other commonly used by murderers pain

was not long ago that researchers at Ohio State University found that the painkiller acetaminophen commonly used had a side effect so far unknown :. mata positive emotions

In the study, participants reported feeling paracetamol is administered less strong emotions when they were shown two very nice or very disturbing photos compared to those taking placebo.

You might be thinking correlation does not mean causation, but when the Bradford Hill criteria used, and take into account the many other studies examining the psychological effects of over-the-counter pain relievers, image it becomes clearer. ( source ) ( source )
"In total, instead of being labeled as a simple pain reliever, acetaminophen could be best described as a soothing emotion for all uses. .. [and] it is clear that the use of paracetamol for pain treatment could have broader consequences than previously thought. " - Geoffrey Durso , lead author of the study and doctoral student in social psychology at Ohio State University ( source )
It is also important to note here that the use of analgesics (such as aspirin and ibuprofen) has been associated with risk of heart failure.

A review of 754 clinical trials (Lancet) found that analgesics (ibuprofen in particular) have been estimated to be a contributing factor to the death of thousands of people each year.

According to lead researcher of this review, the long-term use of these drugs caused thousands of heart attacks and sudden cardiac death, between 1999-2003. In this case, the drug Vioxx was identified.

And Reuters reports, the researchers argue:
"The use of high-dose long-term pain relievers such as ibuprofen or diclofenac is" equally dangerous "in terms risk of heart attack, such as the use of the drug Vioxx, which was withdrawn due to its potential dangers. "( source ) ( source ) ( source )
These drugs are classified as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which are associated with side effects potentially devastating, particularly in the elderly.

in the United States, 100,000 people taking NSAIDs are hospitalized each year and about 15,000 die.

These painkillers have been linked to increased 40-60 percent in cardiovascular problems compared to non-users, as well as hearing loss, gastrointestinal complications, heart failure, miscarriages, and allergic reactions. and the numbers are high

overall approximately 60 million Americans are taking NSAIDs, ibuprofen to be one of the most common. ( source ) ( source )

what you can use instead

As Greenmedinfo says:

"pain levels and unhealthy inflammation are rapidly becoming bodily states by default in the industrialized world.

"While in most cases we can adjust the underlying pro-inflammatory conditions by altering our diet, and to reduce stress and chemical environmental exposures, these approaches take time, discipline and energy, and sometimes we just want the pain to stop now.

"In these moments we often compulsive popping an over-the-counter pill to kill the pain. The problem with this approach is that, if we do it often enough, can kill ourselves with pain ... "

Perhaps, depending on the severity of your pain, some alternatives then to try to prevent reaching an analgesic.
