demand for H1N1 vaccine is quite high in India.. However, waiting is only for a month or half now and indigenous swine flu vaccine made in India-will be commercially available later than the market in April 2010. Zydus Cadila, the pharmaceutical company based in Ahmedabad and Serum India, the Pune-based pharmaceutical company has completed the first phase trials of the vaccine against swine flu. Zydus Cadila is conducting phase two and phase three trials of swine flu vaccine in four major cities of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Jaipur and Pune. Serum India also began clinical trials of nasal form of the vaccine in 300 subjects in different locations around the country on March 8, 2010. Zydus Cadila is prepared for the manufacture of about ten to twelve million doses of vaccine against swine flu in the initial phase is expected just after the 2nd and 3rd phases of trial (which may take six weeks to complete). Serum India, meanwhile, plans to introduce the vaccine against swine flu in a single dose into two -nasal spray forms and as an injectable. Inhalation vaccine uses a live virus, which in three age groups (9-19 years, 20-48 years and 48 and above.) Was administered during the tests. According to S Jadhav, Executive Director Serum India, "more tests will be carried out later to test the safety of the injectable vaccine in another set of people."
