A US researcher says that humans can detect unconsciously magnetic fields land

an American scientist has claimed to have found evidence of a "sixth sense" in humans that can detect magnetic fields of the earth.

Joe Kirschvink, Institute of Technology California, says his experiment can also be "repeated and verified" some research on magnetoreception has never been able to do before.

The trial, which involved only 24 people and has not yet been it revised, based on a study 2016 suggested that other mammals, including dogs, foxes and primates have "magnetic sensors" in their eyes.

This previous research, conducted by the Max Planck Institute and published in scientific reports Nature animals found including "dogs, wolves, bears, foxes, badgers, orangutans and macaques "have the detection of the 1st molecule cryptochrome field present in their retinas.

How exactly this works, however, has been a subject of debate. While some argue cryptochrome is responsible for the direction, others say that the receptor cells act as magnetite, 'compass' needle. It is this second theory states that Kirschvink is responsible for the "sixth sense".

To study Kirschvink, participants were asked to sit in the pitch black in a Faraday cage, a structure that filters "noise electromagnetic background 'rolls of wire. once in the cage, they were exposed to" a pure magnetic field "and nothing more.

using an EEG, Kirschvink monitor whether the brains of the participants responded to changes in the magnetic force. When the magnetic field was "turning left ... no [was] a drop in alpha wave", suggesting participants' brains were shooting "in response to the field magnetic ".

Kirschvink now be subjected to further investigation, with a peer to be released in the coming months article.
