KIDNEY
FAILURE









Kidney failure is related to the failure of kidney.
It is a organ that help to filter waste products from our body. Kidneys are
also helpful in regulating blood pressure.

Kidney failure leads to the build-up of waste
products in the body. It causes lethargy, weakness, shortness of breath. There are many causes of kidney failure but treatments are done in order get rid from
this problem.

Kidney failure is treatable and kidney once again
starts working correctly but some time if kidney failure occurs then in some
cases it is irreversible.

Kidney failure is being diagnosed by blood test
measuring BUN, creatinine, and glomerular filtration rate(GFR). If kidney fails
permanently then the only treatment for this is dialysis or transplant.




Causes:-

Kidney failure occurs from acute and any chronic
disease that fail the kidney and interferes its functioning.

If only one kidney is infected then it can be
removed and remaining kidney may continue to have normal kidney function.
If  both are infected then a donor
kidney(s) may be transplanted.

causes:- this is caused due to decreased blood supply to
the kidney. examples,

1.     Hypovolemia
may occur due to blood loss.

2.     Dehydration
may occur due to loss of body fluid (vomiting, diarrhea, sweating, fever).

3.     If
you intake poor fluids.

4.     If
there is obstruction in renal artery or vein then abnormal blood flow occurs
from or to the kidney.

causes of kidney failure:-

1.     Sepsis:
immune system may be effected by many infection and causes inflammation and
disturb proper working of kidney.

there are some medicines that effect the working of kidney including:

anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs)

4.     Antibiotics
can be there like aminoglycosides gentamicin.

filtering system of the kidneys.

myeloma:- acute glomerulonephritis or
inflammation of the glomeruli, the filtering system of the kidneys. Many

granulomatosis

Hemolytic
uremic syndrome:- this generally occurs due the
destruction of red blood cells.

renel causes of kidney failure:- it occurs due to
factors that affect outflow of the urine:

bladder then also it can be a cause. As the kidney will produce waste but what
if it doesn’t get any way to move out. Kidney damages and shut down.

Prostatic hypertrophy may block the
urethra and prevents the bladder from emptying.

Kidney stones can also be one of the
cause of kidney failure. Usually it affect only one kidney and if there is
only one kidney present, it may cause the remaining kidney to fail.




Treatments:-

   to balance the amount of fluids in your body:-
   doctors always advice for intake plenty of fluids. In some cases, acute kidney
   failure may cause you to have too much fluid, 
   may lead to swelling in your arms and legs.

   Medications
   to balance potassium level:- if your kidneys fail
   to filter potassium from your blood then doctors prescribe calcium, glucose, or
   sodium polystyrene sulfonate to help kidney to filter potassium from body. If
   potassium increases in our blood then it cause irregular heartbeats.

   Medications
   to restore blood calcium levels:- if the level of
   calcium decreases in your blood then doctors prescribe an infusion of calcium.

   Dialysis
   to remove toxins from your blood:- if kidney fails to
   filter waste products from blood then waste products are build up in your body.
   To solve this problem you may need temporary hemodialysis. It help remove
   toxins and excess fluids from your body while your kidneys heal.
