Less than a week after former Playboy model Dani Mathers posted a Snapchat of a naked woman in her gym captioned "If I can't unsee this then you can't either," Mathers was fired from her job, put under criminal investigation, and sparked an internet-wide discussion about fat-shaming and the extreme damages it causes.

Among the women responding to Mathers is Christine Blackmon, a Floridian mom, who, on her Facebook profile explains she's "on a mission to help women just feel good in their skin regardless of their weight or pants size." Blackmon posted the above photo on July 16, accompanied by the below open letter to Mathers:

Dear Dani Mathers, By now, most of my friends have seen that you posted a picture of a naked woman showering at your gym with the caption "If I can't unsee this then you can't either".

About a month ago, I was changing to work out, I slipped my scrubs off without taking my shoes off, and as I stood there in shoes, undies and a headband, I caught my husband taking my picture so I posed playfully due to the obvious absurdity of it all. Later, I saw the picture and begged him to delete it, I hated it, all I saw was lumps and bumps. He simply smiled and softly said "I think it's beautiful". So I let him keep it.

Here's the deal- you may have been a Playboy model but not all of us work out to be "hot", some of us work out simply to honor the bodies we were given. That's all that woman was trying to do and you violated her. Shame on you. I bet I could get 100s of women to post their beautiful bodies and regardless of size, shape or color, they will ALL be more beautiful than the ugliness you showed in that post.

Blackmon, who worked for BeachBody for awhile, told she'd "had enough" of all the marketing on the internet for women with "perfect" bodies looking to make them even better, prompting her to post this picture: "What about all the people that are a couple hundred pounds and they just want to feel a little better? Maybe they're not trying to look like a Playboy model, what about those people?" Blackmon left BeachBody because she felt its marketing was discouraging to anyone who wasn't already in shape.

She noted if she'd known the picture was going to go so viral (at the time of this post it had close to 5,000 shares and almost 40,000 reactions), she might not "have been so brave to do it," but said she felt very safe sharing her body with the women in the Delicate Flower Facebook group she posted it in.

"I'm in shock that I'm sitting here talking to you right now," Blackmon said. "I'm just like everybody else. I'm not super confident, but I've got an amazing network of people that rally behind me. That was the whole point of this, that was what upset me about Dani. She broke that code. We're supposed to be there and lift each other up, not be in there with a baseball bat, beating each other down."

The only negativity she's seen in response to the photo has not been in the comments of her picture, but in some outlets shirking yet another open letter. "I'm thick-skinned, but at the same time, I want to answer each one individually saying 'No, no. You're missing it!' ... I did it for all the women who've come up to me and said 'Oh my gosh, you're right. I need to not be afraid to go to the beach with my kids because I'm afraid of what I'm gonna look like.' That's why I did it."

Blackmon spoke with her kids about the picture last night (her 11-year-old son was (1) "incensed" by what Mathers had done and (2) asked why his mommy didn't feel beautiful) and explained how this story is about more than her and more than Mathers. "If you go through the women [responding to Blackmon's picture with photos of their own], they're amazing," she concluded. "You look at these woman and you truly think they're beautiful. Then you look at yourself and think 'Why don't I think I'm beautiful?' It's just … We're not curing cancer here, but it's nice to feel good for a day or two."
