I did my research after try this and I realized several studies have shown that garlic contains an active ingredient which has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. That is why it is so effective in reducing the size and redness of pimples and also get rid of blackheads.

However, note that if you have sensitive skin, this hack 'may' not work for you as garlic has the potential to irritate the skin. The best thing is to do a test patch first. If you start to itch or discomfort rinse immediately.
