Physicists Send Particles Of Light Into The Past, Proving Time Travel Is Possible?
by Arjun Waliacollective evolution
Scientists at the University of Queensland, Australia, have used individual particles of light (photons) to simulate the particles quantum traveling through time. They showed that a photon can pass through a wormhole and then interact with his older self. Their findings were published in Nature Communications .
The source of this time travel conundrum comes from what are called "closed timelike curves" (CTC). CTC are used to simulate extremely powerful gravity fields such as those produced by a rotating black hole, and could in theory (based on the theory of general relativity Einstein), deform the fabric of existence so that the space- time curves back on itself - creating a CTC, almost like a path that could be used for time travel

. according to Scientific American , many physicists find however CTC "abhorrent, as any macroscopic object traveling through one inevitably create paradoxes, where cause and effect are broken". Others disagree with this assessment ,; in 1991, physicist David Deutsch showed that these paradoxes (created by CTC) could be avoided at the quantum scale due to the strange behavior of these fundamental particles that make up what we call matter.
It is well known that in quantum scale these particles do not follow the rules governing classical mechanics but behave in strange and unexpected ways that really should not be possible.
Welcome to the world of quantum physics, where the pioneer physicist Niels Bohr said once, "if quantum mechanics has not profoundly affected, you have not understood yet."
"we chose to examine a phenomenon which is impossible, absolutely impossible, to explain in any classical way, and which has in it the heart of quantum mechanics actually contains the only mystery ". - Richard Feynman, Nobel prize of the twentieth century. (Radin, Dean Minds:... Tangled Extrasensory Experiences in quantum reality New York, paraview Pocket Books, 2006)
In the quantum world, paradoxes do not understand are common results, but this should not deter people to take seriously this science. Even Einstein did not think much of quantum theory, but I would think that if he were alive today, certainly to have some fun, taking into account all recent developments.
"It is intriguing that you have general relativity prediction of these paradoxes, but then you can consider in terms of quantum mechanics and the paradox disappears. " - University of Queensland physicist Tim Ralph ( source )
The experiment
Tim Ralph (above) and his student PhD Martin Ringbauer CTC simulated model of a German, according to Scientific American magazine, "test and confirm many aspects of the two decades-old theory." Although it is only a mathematical simulation, researchers (and your team / colleagues) emphasize that their model is mathematically equivalent to a single photon travels through a CTC. Nothing has actually been sent back through time however; To do this, scientists would have to find a true CTC, which still has to go through what we know. Of course, there is always the possibility that black budget science has.
Thinking in terms of the "grandfather paradox," a hypothetical scenario in which someone uses a CTC to travel to over time to cause damage to his grandfather, thus avoiding subsequent birth. Now imagine a particle that goes back in time to flip a switch on the generating machine particles that created it -. This is a possibility that these physicists say they have demonstrated through simulation
You can read the details of the experiment here .
Why this is a high probability
in my opinion, it is not possible to travel in time without doubt. Why do I think this? Well, it's because we know one hundred percent that the overlap is real quantum scale.
"Part of the wrath of the problem is that the ability of the particles to exist in two places at once time is not merely a theoretical abstraction. it is a very real aspect of how the subatomic world works, and has been experimentally confirmed many times. " ( source )
"One of the supreme mysteries of nature ... is the ability, according to the laws of quantum mechanics that govern subatomic affairs , of a particle like an electron to exist in a murky state as possible - to be anywhere, all or none at all -. until you click the substantiality by a detector laboratory or an eyeball " ( New York Times )
This means that a particle can exist in multiple states at once. This is best demonstrated by quantum double slit experiment . Recent experiments have also confirmed the quantum entanglement , demonstrating that space is really just a construct that gives the illusion of separation. One thing that suggests that there is a high probably of time travel, along with the experiment mentioned in this article, is the fact that there are experiments showing that particles can actually be caught in time.
this is illustrated by what is called the ' delayed-choice experiment .'
like the experiment double quantum gap, the eraser choice / quantum delay has been demonstrated and time and time again repeated. For example, physicists at the National University of Australia (ANU) have been conducted successfully delayed choice experiment thought of John Wheeler. Their findings were recently published in the journal Nature Physics. ( source )
In 2007 (Science 315, 966, 2007), scientists in France fired photons in an apparatus and showed that their actions could retroactively change something that had already happened.
This particular experiment illustrates how what happens in the present can change what happened in the past. It also shows how time can go back, how cause and effect can be reversed, and how the future caused last.
"If we try to attribute an objective meaning to the quantum state of a single system, curious paradoxes appear: quantum effects mimic the action at a distance not only instantaneous but also, as seen here, the influence of future actions on past events, even after these events have been recorded irrevocably. "- Asher Peres, a pioneer in the theory of quantum information ( source ) ( source ) ( source )
Although we have access to a CTC yet there are good reasons to believe that this kind of time travel is possible at the level of quantum mechanics, and so I have chosen to speak of these other experiments to show that the "time" not even really no there is, as we think it does.
you can access an excellent description of delayed-choice experiment using a cosmic explanation scale here , which makes it easier to understand.
Why have not observed these same laws of quantum mechanics to the macroscopic level is not yet understood, but physicists are working on the problem. For example, in 2012 physicists David J. Wineland and Serge Haroche received the Nobel Prize in Physics for demonstrating how "quantum weirdness" could not only exist in the micro-world subatomic level, but also manifest in the macro-world. At one point, the only overlap is thought to exist in the quantum world inaccessible, but no longer. We know it's possible, just have not figured out how. We, however, seem to be getting closer to finding out. ( source ) ( source )
Perhaps one day, we have determined the key to this puzzle and observe large objects, such as cars, humans , apples and oranges behave in ways that matter does a subatomic level, and maybe one day we will find a wormhole or CTC in space, to conduct real experiments that go beyond the theory. That said, a lot of what was previously considered theory of quantum physics is no longer theoretical, as quantum entanglement.
