The New Age movement began in the second half of the 20th and much of what has been written in the mainstream of spirituality in modern times is suspect century. Of course, there are some, true jewels like Alan Watts and Krishnamurti but even Theosophy, as flawed in some aspects of its creation, was kidnapped and completely damaged after Alice Bailey and his fellows began to influence the organization. If you are looking for honest guidance in their quest for self-transformation, there is no shortage of written material before the agents of the empire created the psychological operation of the New Age.
