in the season of colds, flu and decreased immunity, there is nothing better than a healthy and hot soup. onions have many nutritional and medicinal properties.
If you want to get rid of high temperature and fever, cut the onion into chunks or circles and place them on each foot and put on socks.
If you want to avoid cough and sore throat - forget the old recipe, where the onion pieces are placed on the neck and covered with fabric, and to suggest a new recipe tested for homemade syrup cough
ingredients:.
- 1 cup chopped onion
- ½ cup honey
- 1 tablespoon cloves
- 1 tablespoon ginger
Preparation:
Put the chopped onion with spices in a deep pot. Add the ½ cup of honey. Put this mixture over low heat and simmer for about 20 minutes. the mixture is stirred every few minutes. The pot must remain closed at all times.
-After 20 minutes away from heat and strain. The liquid is placed in a glass jar with a loose lid and stored in a dark room for a few weeks. The dose for children under 10 years old is 1 teaspoon, and for children over 10 and adults is 2-3 tablespoons.
* Since not supposed to children under 1 year of age to consume honey, this medicine is not recommended.
