" To conduct the research, Grimaldi and colleagues treated three groups of mice with different agents for 14-21 days. The first group was treated with a specific activator CB2 receptor. The second group was treated with a specific inhibitor of CB2 receptor. The third group received saline and served as the control group. The group treated with the activating CB2 showed an acceleration of spermatogenesis, while the group treated with the inhibitor shows a slower speed the process. This suggests that a tight balance CB2 activation for proper progression of spermatogenesis is required. The research was published in the April 2016 FASEB Journal , and according to Thoru Pederson, Ph.D., Editor in Chief FASEB journal, "it is a potentially promising new idea for the treatment of male infertility," Hopefully, the problem of male infertility would be solved.
