Chemical Found In Colgate Toothpaste Linked To Cancer
Colgate is one of the most common brands used throughout the world and most people consider it the stable commodity "defensive" consumption.
However, a recent study shows that this popular tooth paste contains a hazardous substance that can contribute to development of cancer and other diseases.
This substance is called Triclosan and is commonly used in laundry detergents, antiseptics, sanitizers, and deodorants. According to a study published in the journal Chemical Research in Toxicology, high amounts of triclosan can cause cancer.
This dangerous substance penetrates through the skin and enters the blood, which in turn leads to a hormonal imbalance.
However, Colgate-Palmolive continues to claim that its products are completely safe to use. As reported by Bloomberg, "Total" is safe, Colgate said, citing the rigorous Food and Drug Administration that led to the approval of the toothpaste 1997 as a nonprescription drug.
At this point, Canada is the only country to put a ban on triclosan.
