Watermelon Cucumber Slushy with Fresh Aloe Vera Gel – The Ultimate Summer Hydrator and Skin Beautifier
I've been waiting for over a month to share this super cooling, hydrating and refreshing summer drink. Temperatures have been really heating up, and it seems that this weekend will be very hot in our neck of the woods. Become a Gatorade side. This drink iced watermelon help cool naturally replenish nutrients lost through sweating, and will make your skin glow! I love this muddy after a run hot; It is full of ingredients and ultra-hydrating electrolytes, and cool in an instant.
This spring I've been playing with leaves of fresh aloe vera, and this is one of the resulting creations. I love pure aloe vera gel as a moisturizer for light and fresh skin, plus homemade masks and beauty treatments. Most of us have applied products containing aloe for minor burns or sunburn, but has many other uses. It not only helps eliminate acne, but also plumps the skin and reduces fine lines and wrinkles, without being greasy or heavy. I even used my hair, like a domestic fly-away light. Although I like using it topically, I'm beginning to appreciate its benefits internally.
One of my favorite parts of writing for the blog is research and exchange of information on the health benefits of plant foods. There is a lot of talk about super foods, and you can spend a small fortune on luxury powders and exotic ingredients, but in reality, you can find great powers in all plant foods. That's why a plant-based diet is so wonderful for your health and beauty! Most of the ingredients of this slush are common ingredients you can find in your regular grocery store. I can not find regular aloe vera leaves for about $ 1 each in the produce section of my local grocery store favorite, but I'm thinking grow and maintain my own plant. You can also substitute aloe vera juice if you can not find the leaves.

I love how I feel after drinking the iced drink, revitalizing! The use of perfectly ripe watermelons produce the tastiest, natural slushy sweet. Add the lemon juice for a shot of invigorating sour taste.
Cucumber Watermelon Slushy
A sugarless, moisturizing natural, and cooling drinks for summer!
2 servings
- + 2 1/2 cups frozen watermelon cubes
- 1 organic, peeled medium cucumber, if desired, and chopped (note: shells provide plenty of nutrients)
- 1 + 1/2 cups water without added sugar or coconut can use filtered water
- 1/4 cup aloe vera gel, scraping the inside of a leaf of aloe vera or aloe vera juice substitute (see note below on the consumption of aloe)
- lemon juice, optional
Directions: Mix all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Enjoy!
Note: aloe vera gel and juice are best consumed in small quantities and for limited periods of time. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, err on the side of caution and do not consume. Check with your doctor if you have any existing health condition. Aloe vera gel has powerful medicinal and detoxifying properties, and should not be eaten every day for long periods of time. While it is very healing, overuse can lead to imbalances and may have a laxative effect. Listen to your body. Only buy a piece occasionally for this reason (once a month or less). The slush is very healthy and moisturizing without it too, and if desired can leave altogether. I often do without the aloe. Consider adding only occasionally for a boost of health and beauty.
