Blood

Trillions of red blood cells (erythrocytes) carry oxygen from the lungs to the tissues, where it is exchanged for carbon dioxide waste product. Red blood cells are colored by the iron-containing protein called hemoglobin, which carts oxygen and carbon dioxide through the blood. The flexibility of red blood cells, which are thin in the center and thick at the edges, makes it possible to fit through even the narrowed blood vessel. Red blood cells survive about three or four months, but they are quickly replaced.
White blood cells
White blood cells (leukocytes) play a important role in defending the body against infection by viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. The five types of white blood cells, which multiply as necessary, can pass through the capillary walls to go after invading organisms within the tissues of the body.
Platelets
Platelets (thrombocytes) are essential for stopping bleeding and repair damaged blood vessels. They are formed in the bone marrow and survive for approximately 10 days in the blood.
Blood plasma
Blood plasma is a colored liquid straw, mainly it is consisting of water (95 percent) containing similar to seawater salt. The plasma also serves to transport nutrients, waste products, proteins and hormones through the body.
Coagulation is the process by which blood becomes solid. Coagulation is initiated almost immediately at the site of a cut and helps limit blood loss by sealing damaged blood vessels. However, if abnormal clotting of a major blood vessel occurs, you can trigger a heart attack, stroke or other serious condition.
The coagulation process has two main parts :. Activation of platelets and the formation of fibrin strands
Platelets are activated by contact with walls of damaged blood vessels, where they become sticky and then grouped to block the small holes. These groups release chemicals that start the clotting process by forming fibrin strands at the site of the injury. Fibrin strands platelets meshes with red and white blood cells. Once the blood vessel cutting the mass of fibrin, platelets and red and white blood cells, the contract fibrin strands to form a solid clot is connected. Thanks for Reading Review of Blood
