MALARIA









Malaria is a well known mosquito-borne infectious
disease of humans and other animals caused by parasitic protozoans. Malaria
shows many symptoms like fever, fatigue, vomiting , and headaches.


Malaria must be treated properly, people may have recurrences
of the disease months later. This disease is most commonly caused by infected
female Anopheles mosquito.





Causes:-



  1. ·       
    Malaria is generally caused if a
    mosquito infected with the Plasmodium parasites bites you.

  2. ·       
    Malaria can also be passed from an infected
    mother to her child at birth.

  3. ·       
    Malaria can also be transmitted through
    blood.

  4. ·       
    Organ transplant can also be one of the
    cause of malaria.

  5. ·       
    Transfusion is also responsible for
    malaria.

  6. ·       
    It can spread through shared needles or
    syringes.








Symptoms:-




Malaria doesn’t show its symptoms immediately. It’s
symptoms are visible within 10 days to four weeks following the infection. Some
infected people may not feel its symptoms for several months.

    You may feel shaking chills that can
    range from moderate to severe.

  2. ·       
    Infected person will get severe fever.

  3. ·       
    Profuse sweating is also a symptom of
    malaria.

  4. ·       
    Patient may have frequent headaches,
    nausea, vomiting,diarrhea, anemia, muscle pain, convulsions.

  5. ·       
    Coma and bloody stools are also symptoms
    of malaria.







Complications:-



  1. ·       
    It may cause swelling of blood vessel of
    the brain, or 
    cerebral malaria.

  2. ·       
    It may create accumulation in lungs that
    will create breathing problems, or pulmonary edema.

  3. ·       
    Many of your organs may be infected
    like, kidney, liver or spleen.

  4. ·       
    It may cause anemia due to the
    destruction of red blood cells.








Prevention:-



  1. ·       
    Malaria can be prevented if we prevent yourself from mosquito bites and taking antimalarial medicines.

  2. ·       
    To prevent mosquito bites, follow these
    guidelines:

    Always be inside when it is dark outside
    preferably in a air-conditioned room.

  4. ·       
    We must wear full length clothes to cover
    our body.

  5. ·       
    Make use of repellent with DEET. Use a
    preparation containing less than 24% strength, because too much may be absorbed
    by skin.

  6. ·       
    We must use bed nets whenever we sleep
    to keep 
    mosquito away from us.

  7. ·       
    Use all out in your room.

  8. ·       
    Use flying-insect spray indoors around
    sleeping areas.

  9. ·       
    Avoid area where malaria and mosquitoes
    are present if you are at higher risk (for example, if someone is pregnant,
    very young, or very old).

  10. ·       
    Always use air-condition and electric
    fans in your room, wear full length clothes, use aerosol insecticides in your
    house, and taking certain antimalarial medicines.
