Amber welfare of milk - Carrot, Pecan, turmeric, cinnamon, ginger +
Inspired my turmeric milk and this recipe
ingredients
1 cup walnuts, soaked for about 6 hours (use more than a creamier milk, less than a thinner milk)
3 cups filtered water
3 medium organic carrots, peeled and chopped
1-inch piece of fresh ginger root, peeled
1-inch piece root fresh turmeric, peeled
1-2 teaspoons cinnamon Ceylon
3 medjool dates soft, boneless
a black peppercorns (black pepper helps the body absorb nutrients in turmeric)
I usually add extra ground turmeric and ginger too - try adding an extra 1/2 -. 1 teaspoon each
Instructions: Mix on high for a minute or two and then strain through a nut milk bag or fine mesh strainer. Taste and add spices according to taste, mixing again if you do. Sometimes I add a little nutmeg and cardamom too. Store in the refrigerator and use within 2-3 days. Enjoy cold.
This works with a regular blender, but may have to scratch your first raw carrot. Note that you do not have to be completely smooth because it will strain the pulp anyway.
You can store the pulp to do other things, like crackers, if you feel witty and prefer not only download the compost.
Here's to stay healthy this fall and winter!
