STUART Kradolfer knows all too well how the pressures of a high-stress job can affect a family.

Growing up with a policeman as a father, Stuart said the stresses of the police force in the ’80s and ’90s were brought home, and his father struggled to cope.

The physical toll also hit close to home when Stuart enlisted.

“I went into war marines commandos, and ended up being very physical, where I worked in anti-terrorism before I moved to Sydney to become a personal trainer, I just pushed my body harder, and harder and harder,” he said.

He found yoga, and said though it might seem cliche, it made him feel blissful and serene.

“Yoga was the mediator for me, it increased my window of tolerance, dropped my anxiety levels and calmed my mind,” he said.

Stuart co-founded Powerlife Whole Health Studios at Moffat Beach with his wife Julie, and they are turning their passion for health into a way to give back to those in “often thankless jobs” by showing gratitude and paying it forward with yoga.









They are offering a community yoga class every Friday at 5pm, free of charge to those who serve and protect the Sunshine Coast.

Stuart said the Frontline Yoga classes were taught with trauma-sensitive guidelines and were suitable for those experiencing stress, anxiety and PTSD.

They are available to police, firefighters, paramedics, medical staff, RFS/SES volunteers and surf lifesavers.

They are backed by a national support organ- isation, and aim to foster community and support; and develop mental and physical strength, resilience, a sense of peace and tools for managing stress.

“When we found out about Frontline Yoga, we knew straight away that it aligned with our values and our sense of giving back to those guardians in our community,” Stuart said.

“A lot of what they do for our community can be incredibly stressful and at times, thankless,” he said.

“We want to show our immense gratitude for the heroes in our neighbour- hood and give something back to them, to support them. Our hope is that they will feel the community returning the love and sense of thanks for all of their efforts in keeping us safe.”
