Myth :. A diabetic can not have any type of sweetener

Myth :. Diabetics can not eat fruit

However, fruit juices are not recommended because they do not contain fiber. (Fruits like banana, chikoo, mango, grapes, sugar cane and cherimoya are not recommended.)
Myth :. All artificial sweeteners are safe for consumption
FACT: many artificial sweeteners contain a substance called aspartame, which is a good sweetener for cold drinks and commonly used in many food products. However, it loses its sweetness at high temperature. For example, to sweeten a cup of hot tea or coffee need more than aspartame to sweeten a cup of normal / cold water. So be careful in their use. Consuming more aspartame-based sweeteners can cause abnormal brain function. Pregnant women, children and patients with advanced liver disease should avoid excessive consumption of aspartame. Opt for artificial sweeteners made from sucralose, which are safer and more stable in hot and cold conditions. Artificial sweeteners containing cyclamate is banned in most countries
Myth: .. Diabetics can not drink alcohol at all
FACT: is recommended to diabetics to avoid alcohol because it can lead to a significant drop in blood sugar. However, a drink alcohol is permitted once a week, depending on individual health conditions. 1 drink = 12 ounces of beer / 5 ounces of wine / 1 ½ ounces of distilled liquor. (1 ounce = 30 ml)
Myth: Diabetics should refrain from eating out
DONE :. a diabetic can eat in a restaurant, as long as the food is prepared hygienically
Myth: .. should not eat diabetics rice
FACT: diabetics can eat rice, but the quantity and quality always depends on the nature and extent of diabetes
Myth :. diabetics do not need bariatric surgery
FACT: Bariatric surgery is offered to people with overweight and those who suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure, joint pain, irregular periods, infertility, problems such as asthma, sleep apnea, etc. Since breathing is performed through keyhole route (back) and is effective in most patients, its acceptance is growing rapidly in society.
Myth :. diabetics need to lose weight fast
FACT: obesity and diabetes are two sides of the same coin. Obese people are advised to lose about two kilos per month. However, the sudden loss of weight through crash diets is not advisable.
