Abby Martin interviews writer and philosopher, Graham Hancock on the mysteries of ancient civilization , occult societies of the past, censorship TED Talks and the difficulty of getting these ideas accepted by archaeologists and conventional historians.

"science has often resisted new ideas and fought bitterly to avoid to climb on board. " - Graham Hancock

Abby Martin Graham, which is an example of the modern-day theory, once considered scandalous, which proved in fact supported by the evidence
[?

Graham Hancock: for example, the drift of continents [theory], everyone is familiar with today and that we consider as fact . (...)

When Alfred Wegener proposed the theory of plate tectonics continental drift back in 1900 (...) was ridiculed, humiliated, accused of being crazy, the idea is that it is absurd and another 30 the last years before the idea was accepted, and of course, they regard everyone as a simple and obvious fact.

But this poor guy had to go through a humiliating public pillory because he was proposing an idea that turned out to be entirely correct

AM:. amazing! He also said there is a "mother culture" of all ancient historical civilizations since spring. You explain Can you implying that culture

GH: Again, let me be clear. I am proposing an idea for discussion, I'm not saying that I am in possession of some indisputable fact. I think we should consider the possibility of forgotten episode in human history .

think you have to consider the possibility that our image of history and prehistory it can not be complete , and have produced the catastrophic events - we know that catastrophic events occur, they are part of life on Earth - catastrophic events have occurred on a scale that could have ended all traces of a great civilization of the past.

Now, of course, scholars and archaeologists historians make a kind of belly laugh every time one mentions the word Atlantis , but do not forget that last reference that survives Atlantis comes to us from the [ Greek philosopher Plato, and he tells us that 9,000 years before the time of Solon - it makes 9,600 BC or 11,600 years - a great civilization was destroyed by catastrophic floods and disappeared under the sea and earthquakes.

he said the disaster was so complete that mankind was forced to begin again like children, with no memory of what went before. What happens is that the date of Plato - 11,600 years ago, 9,600 BC in our calendar - it fits exactly with an episode called Younger Dryas , geologists recognize that not culminate in dramatic floods and earthquakes.

is really strange that Plato made the whole thing and managed to pick a date that fits perfectly with the modern geological understanding of catastrophic at the end of the last ice age events.

by true, you have to know that the story of Atlantis comes from Plato, but there is an identical story in India, for example. In fact, the story is repeated with different names worldwide .

The suggestion is that there were no survivors of the catastrophic collapse of prehistoric civilization and the survivors were established in different points around the world - Egypt in South America , in Mexico, in Mesopotamia, and so on - and tried to preserve and protect the knowledge that their civilization has built, for create some sort of institution that would pass down to the future, and this is the remote common origin that explains the similarities between these ancient cultures widely separated. (...)

There are ancient maps long before the 1700s, showing the world:
one). as seen in the last ice age, and
second). . Having lengths of precision

These maps, in most cases, have been created in 1400-1500 - 1,600, but they were based on source maps older, which have lost to us.

for example, the famous Piri Reis map [bellow]. Piri Reis Turkish Admiral tells us in his own handwriting on your map that based on more than 100 maps oldest source, which he believes to have come from the Library of Alexandria ... lengths incorporating high precision, which then it must in conclusion, were present in these source maps older

AM. I enter his TED talk last year called "the War of conscience" was removed from YouTube [included bellow] ... you surprised that his very popular talk was removed and what it says about the institution of TED, which presents itself as the beacon of free academic thinking

GH: it was a big disappointment for me because I had the highest opinion of TED before this

I and my colleague Rupert Sheldrake . , he gave talks at the TEDx conference in London and both of those conversations considered what would be considered, perhaps, as extraordinary possibilities of awareness by mainstream science, and both conversations were consequently removed from the channel TEDx YouTube and then, because it was a mass protest over the Internet about this act that was seen as censorship, TED them re-installed on what my friend, Rupert, called the "naughty corner 'on his own website where, with great difficulty, which could be found and seen again and discussed.

the reason that the TED gave to pull our conversations, told me it was because our conversations did not agree with the science of the mainstream but every reason they gave for saying that, that later had to remove - and if you go to the relevant website you can now find that original criticisms of TED of us are crossed out by TED themselves , and our reputation are posted there, but still refuse to put the talks back on YouTube.
