A huge, short burst of radio waves ripping through space has been caught in real time first time in history -and that could help scientists figure out where these mysterious cosmic explosions come. So far, only it knew of these bursts of historical data.

A team of scientists from Swinburne University in Melbourne, Australia, has identified the first radio burst every time fast, sometimes known as a blitzar as it happened. These bursts last about a millisecond and emit as much energy as the sun does in a million years. Gusto.

origin of this blitzar is a mystery, but which made "has to be huge, catastrophic and up to 5.5 billion light years away," according to researcher Emily Petroff when she spoke to the magazine New Scientist .
