Study Shows Cannabinoids Improve Efficiency Of Mitochondria And Remove Damaged Brain Cells

By Arjun Walia
a recent study by Andras Biokei-Gorzo at the Institute of Molecular Psychiatry at the University of Bonn in Germany suggests that marijuana (or activation of the cannabinoid system in the brain) causes the release of antioxidants, which they act as a cleaning mechanism. This process is known to remove damaged cells and improve the efficiency of mitochondria. Mitochondria is the energy source that powers the cells. The study was published in Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B. You can read the entire study here .
These findings shed new insight into how natural cannabinoids of marijuana have the ability to kill literally inflammation of the brain responsible for causing cognitive impairment, cerebral neuronal degeneration and failure. By supplying these receptors sites cannabinoids, patients may be able to overcome conditions of the brain such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and more, not to mention premature aging brain. The human brain contains an extensive network of special receptor sites that modulate the function of the nervous system only when activated by appropriate cannabinoid compounds found in the marijuana plant.

Cannabinoids refer to any of a group of related compounds including cannabinol and the active components of cannabis. the canbinoid receptors are activated in the body. The body itself produces compounds called endocannabinoids and play a role in many processes in the body that help create a healthy environment. Cannabinoids also play a role in the generation of the immune system and re-generation. The body regenerates better when saturated with Phyto-cannabinoids. Cannabinoids can also be found in Cannabis. Cannabinoids may very well be the best drug to fight cancer out there!
activity is neuroprotective cannabinoid system, and the increase could be a promising strategy to slow the progression of brain aging and for alleviating neurodegenerative disorders systems Andras Biokei
Gery Wenk, professor of neurology, immunology and medical genetics at Ohio State University conducted some of the research study out of Germany. He said this is a positive step, and it is encouraging to see the development potential of cannabinoids solutions without going overboard. Here's what he said.
I've been trying to find a drug that reduces inflammation of the brain, and restore cognitive function in rats for more than 25 years; Cannabinoids are the first and only class of drugs that have never been effective. I think the perception about this medicine is changing and in the future people will be less afraid. - Gerry Wenk, professor of neurology, immunology and medical genetics at Ohio State University

Biokei-Gorzo and colleagues said the biggest obstacle to progress in their research are the social and political challenges. This is not something new, our world seems to be dominated by the belief systems rather obvious fact. It is discouraging to see the beliefs and the truth has no place persuasion. At the same time, it is very encouraging to see the truth slowly crawl their way into the norm. That's always the way it has been throughout human history. It is quite clear that the rulers do not want to legalize marijuana, and we know that they have our best interests in question. If legalization, I'm sure that would be distributed and adjusted by the big pharmaceutical companies.
On the other hand there have been a number of studies showing how marijuana can actually reduce brain power and affect working memory. The number of studies demonstrating the potential benefits of marijuana is exceptional, and potential adverse effects are found in few, if any at all. So far medicinal use, I think it's a no brainer. I definitely think nature intended to be used marijuana for health and healing properties.
